Arnaldo Trabucco: The Benefits of Swimming

As a medical professional with more than thirty years of experience, Arnaldo Trabucco understands the important of exercise when it comes to maintaining both mental and physical fitness. While he personally enjoys a number of different exercises, he holds a particular fondness for swimming and believes that it offers a number of benefits that many other workouts don’t possess.

It’s Relaxing

Relaxation is not something that is commonly associated with exercise, but swimming offers you the opportunity to let all of your troubles melt away while you enjoy a dip in the pool. It is also a very versatile exercise, so you can choose to really push yourself, or simply swim a few leisurely laps at your own pace. Either way, you will still be getting the benefits of exercise. As such, spending a little bit of time in the pool can help you to destress after a difficult day and may even lead to you making more cogent decisions once you have finished.

Great Cardio

A lot of people struggle to control their breathing when doing other high-impact exercises, such as jogging. A combination of less moisture in the air and overestimating their capabilities can lead to many people not achieving the workout they were aiming for and instead giving up before they really get going. Swimming, on the other hand, allows you to improve your breathing and has been shown to improve the capacity of your lungs over time. Furthermore, due to the fact that there is more moisture in the air, asthma sufferers and those with poor cardio often find that it is a much easier activity that running and other activities.

A Full Body Workout

In order to swim properly you are going to have to make use of a lot of the muscles in your body. Your arms and legs are all required to propel yourself through the water, which means you can tone and even build muscle. Furthermore, you will need to keep your core tight in order to maintain proper technique, allowing for a deeper workout. Also, consider the fact that water is approximately twelve times denser than air and then remember that swimming involves a lot of repetitious motion through the water.

Arnaldo Trabucco enjoys swimming whenever he gets free time and recommends it to anybody who is looking to improve their overall fitness levels without stressing themselves out over intense workouts.
